Malin och Lars prepare for the sled dog season.

Winter is here and sled dog season approaches in the north. Below-zero temperatures are coming and it’s time for Malin Strid and her husband Lars Hoffmann from Cold Nose Huskies to start the pre- season training.

Cold Nose Huskies is Malin’s and Lars’ sled dog project, which specialises in shorter runs from 1.5 hours to tours that last a full day. They train and race their own dogs, with races for pairs lasting between 300 km and 1,200 km. Malin was the Swedish champion in 2017.

Their biggest goal now is to compete in the world’s longest and toughest sled dog race, the 1,800km long Iditarod in Alaska.
